The Coletivo 21 group was created in 2020, bringing together artists living in different cities across the country who participated in an online art course. During that period of social isolation due to the pandemic, their virtual meetings accommodated their uncertainties and created fertile ground for the group to think about joint actions that would generate opportunities for growth and display of their production.
Individually, each person made their journey sharing knowledge and opportunities, thus contributing to everyone's development. During this journey, everyone realized that it is in the diversity and accumulated experience of each member that their strength lies. This is how, during this period, the group matured artistically, creating shared learning strategies, strengthening ties and gaining many friends.
For the exhibition Response to Chaos, a very broad concept was defined so that everyone could present their interpretation of the theme, based on their poetics and worldview. In all the works on display and in the dialogues they establish between them, the proposal is to provoke reflections on the collective challenges we face today.
For the group's creator, the artist Nando Paulino: Coletivo 21 is in itself a “Response to Chaos”. Our dynamics establish an “order”, a common sense that enables actions considering the diversity of the members.
